This year, the Juliet variety continues to grow, with a 20% increase thanks to young orchards coming into production. While the production from the Rhône valley and the south of France is slightly below potential for the 2023 campaign, the harvests in other French regions are in line with the forecasts. “We hope to market 11,500 tons this year (compared with 9,500 tons in 2022),” explains Jean-Noël Carles. These volumes should continue to rise in the coming years, as new orchards were planted last year. Juliet apples are currently being picked and should be back on the shelves this week.
Juliet apple tree to win every week
“There will be a draw every week from October 16th to December 23rd, and the winner will receive 1 Juliet apple tree.” The game will be found on the apple trays, and posters will be displayed in the sales areas, to “boost sales as much as possible, even if Juliet apples are already eagerly awaited by consumers.”
