Peru's fresh blueberry campaign continues to lag far behind

The Peruvian fresh blueberry campaign is still well behind last season. "By this time last year, Peru was already exporting more than 20,000 tons of blueberry a week, a volume that hasn't been achieved in any week of this year, as the maximum shipments have not exceeded 12,000 tons. Last week has been the best week so far, as the country exported a total of 11,149 tons of blueberries, 45% less than in the same week last year. So far this campaign, Peru has exported 89,785 tons of blueberries, 50% less than in 2022," states Fresh Fruit's latest report.

In the last week, the product reached 23 destinations, the most important destinations were the United States, with a 53% share, the Netherlands, with 25%, and China, with 9%.

5,927 tons were shipped to the United States, i.e. 52% less than last year. Shipments to the Netherlands amounted to 2,754 tons, i.e. 50% less than in the same week of 2022, and China acquired 997 tons, 89% more than in the same week of last year.
