Peruvian fresh ginger shipments are 27% higher than last year

According to data from Fresh Fruit, in week 43, Peru exported 1,692 tons of ginger; a figure that is 18% lower than in the same week of last year. However, so far this year, the country has exported a total of 55,800 tons of ginger, i.e. 27% more than by the same date in 2022.

In week 43, the three main destinations for Peruvian ginger accounted for 82% of all shipments. The United States had a 50% share (843 tons), the Netherlands a 23% share (386 tons), and Spain a 9% share (153 tons).

The ginger was exported by 39 companies, three of which accounted for 19% of all shipments. Shipments were led by Blue Pacific Oils SAC, a company that only supplied the United States and accounted for 9% of all shipments. It was followed by Agronegocios La Grama SAC with a 5% share and shipments to the United States (75%) and the United Kingdom (25%). Elisur Organic SAC ranked third, also with a 5% share. Its main destinations were the United Kingdom (26%) and the United States (25%).
