Azerbaijan's trade in fruits and vegetables for the period of January to September was reported by the State Statistical Committee. Imports to the country during this period totaled 91,328 thousand tons of fruits (a 9% decline) valued at $92.16 million (a 4.5% decrease), 21,764 thousand tons of vegetables (a 0.3% decrease) valued at $12.99 million (a 2.9% decrease), and 102,732 thousand tons of potatoes (a 15.2% decrease) valued at $30.056 million (a 10.2% decrease).
Exports from Azerbaijan during the same period included 144,958 thousand tons of vegetables (a 7.8% increase) worth $139.238 million (a 4.7% decrease), 230,438 thousand tons of fruits (a 25.4% increase) valued at $289.569 million (a 17.6% increase), and 71,070 thousand tons of potatoes (a 9.1% decrease) valued at $31.011 million (an 11.6% decrease).
