The largest bunch of bananas ever counted, with 473 bananas, is still the largest after decades

Since 2001, the record for the world's largest bunch of bananas has remained unchallenged, making it an incredible feat in the world of oversized fruits and vegetables. Located at Finca Experimental de las Calmas in El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain, the record-breaking bunch was grown by Kabana SA and Tecorone SL. These dedicated farmers allocated significant portions of their farmland to banana production, leading to the creation of this remarkable bunch.

The colossal bunch contained a staggering 473 bananas and weighed an astonishing 287 pounds at the time of harvest, earning it the prestigious title of the largest banana bunch ever grown. This remarkable achievement surpasses previous records set by oversized fruits like a 9.36-pound mango in 2020 and a 6.14-pound eggplant in 2021.

Human fascination with growing gigantic fruits and vegetables has been ongoing for decades, but the world's largest banana bunch continues to hold its impressive status for over 20 years. While other oversized produce has captured our attention, this record remains unmatched, demonstrating the dedication and agricultural expertise of the farmers behind this extraordinary achievement.
