The first ship arrived at the Primever group's new fruit terminal earlier this week. It carried a container of lychees from Madagascar and was unloaded overnight, with the first shipments expected yesterday afternoon.
These logistics activities at the fruit terminal at the port of Sète, in southern France, supplement the Primever Group's international logistics activities. This port and those in Fos sur Mer and Le Havre offer importers a fruit and vegetable supply source. Those products are then further transported by road to destinations in Europe within the Primer Group's network.
Sète is accessed by shipping routes from countries around the Mediterranean Sea, like Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco, but it is also ideally located for the Far East.
Even larger container ships from South Africa and South America can bring goods to the French port via Morocco.
The new activities at Sète fit well into the Primever Group's vision. By engaging in international activities, this European transportation and logistics company can further expand its network on the continent. The Primever Belgique and Primever Holland branches have already further developed Primever Europe.
