International tomato specialist RedStar has appointed CFO Peter Kalden as CEO, effective November 1. He thereby succeeds Henri Lambriex, who takes his seat on the STAK. In addition, Koen van Hartevelt has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer. Van Hartevelt comes from growers' cooperative Nedato and previously held managerial positions at McCain and Red Bull, among others. Koen Van Hartevelt succeeds Franky Koekebakker, who has decided to leave RedStar at the end of this year.
"With Van Hartevelt on board, we have a seasoned CCO who can steer our rapid international growth in the right direction. It is my grateful task to build on the foundation Lambriex has laid through our four passions: People, Produce, Planet, and Partner," said Peter Kalden, who joined the company as CFO in December 2021.
Koekebakker: "After 15 years of tremendous learning and experience within RedStar, I am at the point where I am ready for a new challenge. I want to thank RedStar, my colleagues, and certainly our partners very much for the amazing years."
Van Hartevelt: "I am grateful for the confidence placed in me by Peter Kalden and the SB/STAK. We have a very professional and driven organization with colleagues who are passionate about serving our customers with the best and tastiest tomatoes. I look forward to building on the growth we have started, in a sustainable and innovative way, together with all our RedStar colleagues, partners, and relations."
