Ukraine: large producers will start selling vegetables from storage later, in February: insights from agrarian expert

Alexander Baran, an agronomist at the gardening private enterprise "Agrarian Company 2004" within the Vitagro holding (Khmelnytskyi region, Ukraine), believes that large enterprises, having available funds and the ability to store vegetables in their own or leased warehouses, will enter the market later, in February. He shared this information in an interview with the magazine "Horticulture in Ukrainian."

"The majority of vegetable producers are small farmers (2–5 hectares) who need funds immediately to settle with people and prepare for spring – buying production materials, etc. Moreover, they have no place to store vegetables qualitatively and for a long time, especially onions. Large enterprises will be the quickest to bring their products to the market, probably in February," predicted the specialist.

The private enterprise "Agrarian Company 2004" also grew vegetables this year. Despite not having specialized premises, they found a solution.

"We rent a warehouse at 'Continental Farmers Group,' which is specially equipped for storing onions – with dampers, a dryer, and a sorting line," shared the agronomist.
