Attractiveness of the sectors and sustainability of production

37th edition of SIVAL

The international plant production trade show returns to Angers this week, from January 16th to 18th, 2024. According to SIVAL president Bruno Dupont, the event will be an “unmissable and privileged place to get inspired, build and envisage the future of the sectors with optimism and pragmatism.” Nearly 26,000 visitors are expected for this 37th edition and no fewer than 700 exhibitors on 38,000 m² of exhibition space. The main theme of SIVAL 2024 will be “the attractiveness of the sectors and the sustainability of production.”

Innovation in SIVAL’s DNA
The plant production trade show aims to “promote solutions that respond to the need for more sustainable agriculture, in line with major environmental and social issues.” This drive for innovation will take the form of two competitions: the SIVAL Innovation competition, which rewards innovative solutions (awards ceremony on January 17th), and the Agreen Startup competition.

International development
SIVAL continues to expand its international presence, with the VIBE (Végépolys Valley International Business Event) business convention, FRUIT 2050 and the presence of new delegations of top foreign buyers to “enable SIVAL exhibitors to forge links on the international scene.” This year, 16 countries are expected to attend, representing some 50 foreign buyers: United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Poland, Turkey, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Algeria, Colombia, Mexico, Tunisia, Cameroon, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

New format for FRUIT 2050
The biennial international event FRUIT 2050, organized by Végépolys Valley, GIS Fruit, CITFL, INRAé, Interfel and SIVAL, is back for the 4th time, with a new format this year. On the program: themed tours and a round-table discussion featuring experts, producers and journalists from various countries, focusing on the issue of human resources. HR in the fruit sector: tomorrow's challenge? Recruitment, skills, job attractiveness and new jobs, new technologies and tools, training, working conditions, regulations, new generations... Meet us on Tuesday, January 16th, from 1:45pm.
