The Staay Food Group is expanding its range with the 'High Color', an extra sweet pineapple variant. This pineapple, for connoisseurs, is harvested later, allowing it to ripen and color for longer. It tastes noticeably sweeter and is yellower in color. That deep yellow is why this fruit is offered as 'High Color' under the Staay Food Group's NERO Premium house brand.
"These pineapples are grown on the same farm in Costa Rica as our standard DULCE Gold pineapples. We recently extensively tested the cultivation and logistics of this new premium High Color pineapple. Our on-site agronomists are very enthusiastic. These pineapples' brix values are consistently much higher than regular ones", say Johan Koemans, Account Manager at Staay and Robert Koudstaal, responsible for pineapple imports.
From this month, sugar-sweet premium High Color pineapples are available in various sizes in open-top 11kg NERO Premium boxes. The standard pineapples (both crownless and with crown) remain available under the Staay house DULCE Gold brand in their distinctive bright yellow boxes.
