The Limorè lemon campaign is in full swing after the cooperative opted to delay harvesting by over 20 days so that all fruits could reach the right grade and color.
A new packaging solution was introduced in late December: a box with a handle containing four fruits that is receiving positive feedback from operators.
Pietro Buongiorno, president of Consorzio Produttori di Limoni Associati from Rocca Imperiale, commented that "there are many big retail chains in Italy and abroad requesting this type of packaging, as it is easy to transport and convenient for small families. The box reduces waste and meets the needs of consumers, who already have to deal with a higher cost of life."

Two sides of the box illustrate the characteristics of the Limorè products in Italian and English, including the limonene and juice content and the place of cultivation.
As for the general trend, the president stressed how the lemon market is livelier and more promising this year despite a few difficulties. "Limoré is increasing its shipments in Italy and abroad, especially to Germany, France, Switzerland, Great Britain and the Netherlands. Supplies to Saudi Arabia and Dubai are also doing well. However, climate change is real, as we keep recording temperatures nearing 20°C. Plants are already waking up with abnormal episodes for the period. The lack of rain also means there will be a higher percentage of small-medium grades."
"The choice of supplying consumers with fruits that are harvested and processed by hand and shipped on the same day without additives or wax is paying off. Of course we are bearing higher costs, but we care about the genuineness and quality of productions. We want to stand out on a crowded and confused market."
