Bosnia and Herzegovina:

Republika Srpska's Ministry of Agriculture pays record incentives to farmers

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Republika Srpska, one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has disbursed over 16,353,680 BAM in incentives, marking a record single-day payout. The funds, which arrive in time for spring sowing preparations, include premiums for fruits and vegetables.

The Ministry has fully cleared last year's obligations towards fruit and vegetable growers. Fruit premiums of 4,013,828 BAM were paid to 977 fruit growers across Republika Srpska, calculated on 27,462,140 kilograms of fruit. Premium amounts are, on average, 80 percent higher compared to last year, with some fruit types seeing a twofold increase in incentives.

The Ministry also noted that 320 vegetable producers and 5 mushroom producers were granted premiums for their produced and sold crops. Based on 25,195,422 kilograms of vegetables and 458,460 kilograms of mushrooms, a premium of 1,996,982 BAM was approved, marking an average increase of around 18 percent for certain types.
