Emergent Cold LatAm now offers the largest temperature-controlled food storage capacity in Central America and the Caribbean. Emergent Cold Latin America is inaugurating the expansion of its temperature-controlled food storage and logistics facilities in Panama, as part of a US$ 15 million investment in the country.
Present in Panama since 2021 with the acquisition of Galores Cold Storage, the company has invested in this modern warehouse as part of its expansion plan in the region. Emergent Cold Latam, with a presence in 11 countries, is the largest refrigerated food storage and logistics company in Latin America and the Caribbean, complementing the offer of solutions for the storage and transportation of dry, refrigerated and frozen food.
With the inauguration of this modern building, the company’s structure offers customers capacity for approximately 29,000 pallets, with the possibility of expanding to an additional 6,000 positions.
“For me, this expansion has special significance. When we founded Galores Cold Storage, the facilities were already the largest and most modern in all of Central America and the Caribbean,” said Rafael Rocha, co-founder of Galores Cold Storage and now Senior Commercial Vice President for Latin America at Emergent Cold LatAm. “Being part of the largest company in Latin America allows us to offer even more comprehensive solutions to our customers in the different countries where we operate,” concluded Rocha.
“In terms of logistics, Panama stands out for being a strategic connection point between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, facilitating access to the European and Asian markets, geographical and infrastructure advantages that complement the value-added solutions offered by the company,” explained Alain Eichmann, General Manager of Emergent Cold Latam for the Caribbean region.
