Sweet cherry exports from Azerbaijan see steady growth, reaching approximately $120 million over the past three years, according to recent data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Sweet cherries, cultivated across 12,000 hectares, emerge as one of the country's primary fruits, with orchards spanning 65 districts.
Leading in the orchard area is the Khachmaz district with 4,422 hectares devoted to sweet cherry cultivation. Following closely are Guba with 2,317 hectares, Gusar with 800 hectares, Shabran with 595 hectares, Shamkir with 233 hectares, and Agdash with 220 hectares.
Notably, the Guba-Khachmaz economic region contributes around 45% of sweet cherry production, leveraging its optimal humidity conditions.
