On February 21st, two trucks loaded with fresh vegetables and fruits set off for Russia from the Jixian International Agricultural Produce Logistics Center in Jiamusi City, located in the Heilongjiang Province of Northeastern China, marking the opening of the city's first "green corridor" for export.
Before 2019, the average annual volume of fruit and vegetable exports from Jiamusi to Russia reached 12,000 tons, equivalent to 500 truckloads. Russia has been a significant trading partner for this centre. However, in 2023, after the resumption of fruit and vegetable exports to Russia, the prolonged procedural delays and high transportation costs became serious obstacles to trade expansion.
Thanks to the launch of the "green corridor" for fruit and vegetable exports in Jiamusi, the processing time for all customs procedures will be reduced to just one day.
