Jardin Exotics -

Colombian exotics exporter reaches 10 years of trading to Europe

Jardin Exotics, a Colombian export company of fresh avocados and passion fruits reached their 10th anniversary as well as the export of their 3,000th 40" container that was loaded towards Europe. The company was founded in 2014, and reached these milestones in collaboration with the Dutch company Quality Produce International (QPI) BV in February of this year, in time for the Fruit Logistica in Berlin as well.

Shortly after the foundation of Jardin Exotics, they found a reliable partner in QPI, who exclusively market the goods in Europe. "A balanced customer structure ensures that the entire range of different calibers always finds a buyer, and good results are achieved in order to be able to continue to grow at the origin. All goods are certified to the highest standards, some of the production is even FairTrade."

Named after the town of Jardin in Colombia, Jardin Exotics' own packing house is also located here, which also opened in 2014 as a "state of the art" facility and since then has been expanded several times. The high-quality fruits from the region are sorted, packed and prepared for export on two different packing lines, one for avocados and one for passion fruits.

The topic of sustainability is also very important to Jardin Exotics. A large photovoltaic system on the roof ensures to generate part of the required energy by itself. The amount of rainfall in the growing region of Antioquia, probably the most fertile region in Colombia for the agricultural sector, exceeds the amount of water required for cultivation. So the "superfood" avocado from this region is actually a "superfood" in every respect.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their loyalty and always good cooperation. We look forward to the next 10 years!," the company noted in a statement.
