“More fairness for producers”

C'est Qui le Patron?! launches solidarity label for fruit and vegetables

After milk, eggs and butter, C'est Qui Le Patron?! has decided to show its commitment to fruit and vegetables. Founded in 2016 by Nicolas Chabanne to guarantee fair remuneration for producers, the approach announced, at the International Agricultural Show in Paris, the launch of a solidarity label to indicate to consumers that the fruit and vegetable producer is paid a fair price. "This solidarity label will bring greater fairness for producers and greater transparency for consumers, because it is determined by producers only to indicate the products for which they are paid the right price. It makes it very easy for consumers to spot these products," according to the founder.

How does it work?
"The producer reports to [email protected]. The team references and audits the product to make sure everything is in order. After this validation, the producer applies for the solidarity labels, and the clients wishing to deploy the solidarity label contact the producer to verify the fair remuneration. The products arrive on the shelves of local stores (they are indicated on a national map). Local consumers buy them and they can check with the producer that all is well."

Carrefour is the first retailer to open its shelves to the consumer solidarity label.
