Urschel Nederland proudly unveiled its new premises in Tiel on Wednesday, April 10. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Frank van der Meijden, mayor of Tiel, and Alan Major, Chief Sales Officer at Urschel, marking the start of the day's celebrations. "With this expansion, we've become the largest Urschel office in Europe, positioning the Netherlands as the firm's hub for Europe," share Patrick Jansen, Senior Sales Manager, and Luc van Buynder, Technical Sales Director Europe, of the company, which has now left its old premises in Wijk bij Duurstede behind.

"A milestone for us, but actually for all of Urschel Europe," Luc describes the opening. "It shows that we are doing extremely well. We have locations all over Europe. There's hardly a place where Urschel doesn't have a presence. All these locations are performing very well, so to say that we are now the hub from the United States to here is, of course, fantastic."
"The expansion was very necessary," he says. "Initially, of course, because we as a company have taken steps forward. We have a very wide range of reduction machines, which can be used in all aspects of food processing. In these times, there is an ever-growing demand for them. As a result, you see that all the locations are experiencing steady growth and a direct line to Europe was needed. This was first established in the United Kingdom, but due to Brexit issues, it has shifted to the Netherlands."
Space available for all machines
"Moreover, the premises for the Netherlands/Belgium were simply too small," Patrick adds. "For the number of employees, but also in terms of warehouse space. With the new building, we have now quadrupled in terms of area. We now have a very large warehouse, where we can serve our customers, as well as those of our colleague countries. We have the possibility to have all Urschel machines in stock here. Moreover, we also have them available for demonstrations. When a customer visits, we can give a demonstration for every possible machine, with our permanent demo managers. In addition, we will of course also continue to visit the customer if desired. The possibilities are endless now that the new premises have been realized."

Jan Petersen, absent here, is just as much a part of the team.
A great day
And so, the day was celebrated on a grand scale with customers, relations, and employees. "We can say nothing but that it was a very successful day. After the official opening, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, we were able to celebrate the joyous occasion with everyone. We did various demos and tours to show all the possibilities in the new premises. All this while enjoying snacks, drinks, and music."
"We were also more than satisfied with the turnout. It's always a bit uncertain whether everyone is willing to make the trip to Tiel, but in the end, the willingness was great. It was a beautiful day, which we were able to conclude in a lovely way with a dinner with the European management, Asian management, and the Dutch team."
