Shipments of fruits and nuts from China to Kyrgyzstan grew 1.6 times in the first quarter of 2024, according to data from the Main Customs Administration of China.
During the three months, fruits and nuts were imported from China for a total amount of $118.3 million. Mandarin oranges, walnuts, pears, grapes, apples, grapefruits, bananas, lemons, limes, pineapples, mangoes, and oranges dominate the import structure.
Another significant trend is the increase in vegetable imports from China to Kyrgyzstan. The import volume of vegetables for the first quarter of 2024 amounted to $24.1 million, which is an increase of 3.5 times compared to the same period last year. In the structure of vegetable imports from China, the main share was occupied by deliveries of:
- tomatoes — $5.9 million;
- peppers — $5.6 million;
- cucumbers and gherkins — $3.7 million;
- garlic — $3.1 million;
- broccoli — $1.6 million;
- lettuce leaves — $1.2 million;
- pumpkins — $0.9 million.
