To safeguard domestic supply, the Belarusian government has implemented temporary restrictions on the export of carrots and beetroots. According to Decree No. 341 issued on May 8th, for three months, the export of these root vegetables from Belarus will now require licensing.
The decree mandates one-time export licences issued by MART in collaboration with relevant authorities for shipments of these commodities beyond Belarus.
The introduction of export licensing aims to exert maximum control over resources to ensure the primary provision of the domestic market's full demand through domestically grown produce, as stated by a government press service commentary.
