Russia to import more apples following May frosts

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has announced the potential need to import more apples. The recent frosts have severely impacted apple orchards in central Russia, with the Fruit Producers Association estimating that 50-70% of flowering apple trees have been damaged.

According to the Agriculture Minister, it is explored international markets. This substantial loss has prompted the government to consider increasing apple imports to meet domestic demand to avoid any shortages.
