Two tonnes of fresh lychees from Vietnam, compliant with GlobalGAP standards, were recently transported to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, marking the initial shipment of this year's harvest from Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province.
This consignment, upon distribution, garnered attention from consumers in supermarkets. ACEM, the importing entity, has expressed intentions to import around 10 tonnes of lychees throughout the year to cater to the expected demand. The Vietnam Trade Office in France, through Vu Anh Son, has indicated a commitment to supporting Vietnamese enterprises in navigating the French market.
Efforts include the development of a long-term strategy and fostering a network within the Vietnamese business community in France to aid exporters in accessing not only the French but also the broader European markets. Son emphasized the necessity for Vietnamese producers to enhance agricultural practices and adopt advanced harvesting and preservation technologies. Additionally, he pointed out the importance of increasing promotional activities to boost the presence of Vietnamese products among European consumers.
