High share of imported fruits forecasted in Russian market

There is a growing share of imported sweet cherries in the domestic market of Russia. The first shipments of cherries to the Russian market are coming from Uzbekistan. Additionally, deliveries from Turkey, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Russian orchards are expected in the next two weeks.

Turkey is the leading supplier of stone fruits at the beginning of the season. Following Turkey, Uzbekistan, Iran, China, Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan join the market. This year, the peach and nectarine season opened a few days earlier.

Currently, Turkish apricots are being supplied in smaller quantities, which has led to an increase in their purchase price. However, with the increase in apricot supplies from Uzbekistan and other markets, their cost is expected to decrease.

The main suppliers of apples and pears are Turkey, China, Moldova, Chile, South Africa, Serbia, Lebanon, Argentina, and Brazil. Despite the large volume of imported pears, their cost remains stable until autumn.
