To establish a new, advanced blueberry nursery

Portland Trust facilitates Fall Creek's entry into Romania with land acquisition

Portland Trust, a prominent real estate developer in Romania, has completed the sale of a 50-hectare parcel in Moara Vlăsiei to Fall Creek. This transaction signifies Fall Creek's strategic entry into the European blueberry market. Fall Creek, recognized globally for its blueberry breeding and plant production, plans to establish a new, advanced blueberry nursery on the acquired land, aiming to serve as an innovation hub for blueberry planting stock in Europe. This development is expected to enhance Fall Creek's supply chain, ensuring the provision of premium blueberry plants to European cultivators.

The site, chosen for its significant underlying water reservoirs, is crucial for plant cultivation. "Purchasing this land in Moara Vlăsiei is essential to our growth strategy. We are excited to bring our expertise to Europe and contribute to the agricultural landscape of the region, taking into account Romania's potential in this segment," stated Burgert van Dyk, EMEA Regional Director at Fall Creek. Portland Trust will oversee the development of the nursery's infrastructure, further solidifying the project's foundation in Romania.
