"Demand is growing both in Italy and abroad, also because the new generations are attracted by new seedless varieties. As is known, the market considers seedlessness a strength, not only for the taste and sweetness of the fruits, but also because the grapes are easier to consume. Sicily currently boasts 14,000 hectares of vineyards. Less than 500 of these are destined to patented seedless varieties. There is therefore plenty of room for growth, which is excellent for the development of our territory and our economy," explains Giuseppe Auteri, sales manager at OP Il Galletto, located in Palagonia (Catania).

"The harvesting of three new varieties of seedless grapes from the 'Bloom' family started on June 7th 2024," explains Giuseppe Auteri. "Specifically, we are talking about two black varieties and a red one, all super-early. Sweet Bond™️ is a black variety boasting large, crunchy and sugary grapes. Torch™️ is red with medium-sized crunchy grapes boasting a red flesh with unique organoleptic qualities. The research published by Bloom confirms that a cup of grapes provides 25% of the daily requirement of vitamin K and can reduce the risk of heart disease."
Sweet Bond™️.
"According to the New York Academy of Science, in fact, grapes - and especially red grapes -, are rich in polyphenols and antioxidants which help increase the levels of good cholesterol, while the fibres and flavonoids help protect the heart from clots, thereby reducing the damage caused by high cholesterol. Our company is the first to reach the markets all over Europe with this extraordinary variety, and manages to anticipate even the Spanish production. The climate in our area, together with greenhouse production, means we can start harvesting really early before any other European country. As is known, the table grape market keeps evolving and new seedless varieties are becoming predominant in most countries."
Sweet Magic™️.
"When it comes to environmental sustainability, the systems for the channeling and use of rainwater for irrigation mean we can lower the pH of the soil and obtain produce that is not only early, but that also boasts a unique flavor, crunchiness and grape size. We are happy with the choice we made to reconvert almost all our vineyards of traditional varieties with patented seedless ones, which currently represent around 70% of our production. These figures, combined with the high quality standard of the produce, pushed Marcos Felici, the General Manager for Mediterranean Countries at Boom Fresh, to visit our company in Sicily and witness the quality of our produce, the care we put in growing our vineyards and the extraordinary potential of our territory in person."
