In Bursa's Keles district, renowned for its fruit cultivation, the cherry harvest has commenced. Keles Mayor Ali Doğru has shared that the region, which exported 15 thousand tons of cherries last year, aims to maintain this export volume. During a gathering with cherry producers in the Kirnsisklar District, Leader Hakikat highlighted that Keles produces some of Turkey's finest cherries, emphasizing the continuous support for farmers by monitoring the purchasing rates offered by merchants and companies.
Farmers have voiced concerns over escalating costs, noting a price increase from 25 lira per kilo last year to 30 lira per kilo in 2024. They warned that if costs continue to rise, cherry production may become unsustainable in future years.
