Avocado imports from Mexico expected to increase

Avocado movement from Mexico crossings through Texas is expected to increase. Cartons 2 layers Hass 32-84s and organic 48-70s supplies are insufficient to quote. The F.O.B. report is expected to resume the week of June 23, along with the initial harvest of the 2024 Flora Loca crop. Movement from South District California is expected to increase slightly. Trading early was very active, late is active. Prices are higher. Cartons 2 layers Hass 32-48s are mostly 70.25-73.25, 60s are mostly 64.25-66.25, 70s are mostly 54.25-60.25, 84s are mostly 50.25; organic 48s are mostly 74.25-76.25, 60s are mostly 66.25-70.25, 70s are mostly 58.25. Extra services are included. Movement from the South Florida district is expected to increase as the season progresses. Supplies are light.

Cucumber prices from Mexico crossings though Texas spiked early in the week but have since cooled down. Movement is expected to decrease. Trading early was fairly slow, late is fairly active. Prices are higher. 1 1/9-bushel cartons medium are mostly 16.95-18.95, fair quality are mostly 12.95-14.95, ordinary quality are mostly 8.95- 10.95, large are mostly 18.95-20.95. Quality and condition are variable. Movement from Mexico crossings through Otay Mesa, California is expected to remain about the same. Trading early was fairly active, late is moderate. Prices are slightly lower.

Green Bell Pepper movement from San Joaquin Valley, California is expected to increase seasonally. Trading is fairly active. Prices of 1 1/9-bushel cartons extra-large are 32.95-34.95, large are 28.95-32.95, irregular sized fair quality are 25.95-28.95. Quality is generally good. Movement from Eastern North Carolina is expected to remain about the same. Trading is active. Prices of 1 1/9 Bushel cartons/crates jumbo and extra-large are 30.35-32.00. Quality is good.
