Talks between Russian and North Korean officials focus on agricultural cooperation

Russia considers importing North Korean apples following talks

Talks were held in Moscow between Sergey Dankvert, head of Rosselkhoznadzor, and Kim Su Chor, deputy chairman of North Korea's Committee for quality control and quarantine of import and export products. The discussions centred on cooperation in the agricultural sector.

"The parties noted the significant potential for expanding trade interactions, particularly regarding the mutual supply of fresh vegetables and fruits. Sergey Dankvert confirmed the possibility of importing North Korean apples into Russia, given the colleagues' interest in these shipments," stated the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor.

During the talks, North Korean representatives expressed their intention to send their specialists to Russia for training and experience exchange. The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation in the field of plant quarantine.
