In a strategic development, the Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Produce Marketing and Processing Corporation (HPMC) has set the prices for universal cartons for the forthcoming apple season in Himachal Pradesh, aiming to aid numerous fruit growers across the state. For the initial instance, the adoption of universal cartons has been mandated, with HPMC reducing the costs to Rs 48 for brown cartons and Rs 56 for white cartons, excluding GST. This adjustment reflects a deduction of Rs 7.50 and Rs 3.50 for each type respectively, from the prior year's rates.
HPMC has indicated that these cartons will be procurable at their offices starting the subsequent week, following the conclusion of HPMC's tender procedure on Monday, which was intended to secure the availability of these cartons for the growers. Shivalik Containers, Jazz Packers, and Jasmer Makers emerged as the final suppliers after a technical evaluation, tasked with ensuring the delivery of the cartons to HPMC within a week to facilitate distribution ahead of the apple season.
