According to analytics from the wholesale market "Shuvar," Ukraine, the price for domestic pears has remained unchanged since the beginning of July, holding steady at 60 UAH/kg. However, this price is higher than it was during the same period last year, notes Tetiana Popovych, head of the marketing department at the market.
This information is highlighted in the market review by the magazine "Ukrainian Horticulture."
"Today, pears are more expensive due to last year's low harvest and consequently lower stock levels in storage," said the expert. "The quality of the pears remains high. Additionally, power outages have influenced the price trend by increasing storage costs. The market is mainly stocked with Conference, Beurré, and Williams varieties. These varieties are popular among consumers due to their taste."
