San Miguel opens lemon processing plants in Uruguay and South Africa

San Miguel, the Argentine company specializing in producing and exporting citrus fruits, has announced the inauguration of two new lemon processing plants in Paysandú, Uruguay, and Coega, South Africa. This important advance is part of the company's global expansion strategy, seeking to supply key customers worldwide with high-value-added products derived from lemon.

These facilities have state-of-the-art technology for lemon processing, focusing on developing industrial products based on natural ingredients. The opening of these plants represents a step forward in San Miguel's project to reconfigure its long-term business strategy, increasing its global production capacity.

With a main plant in Famaillá, Tucumán, Argentina, San Miguel reinforces its global leadership in industrial lemon processing and its long-term financial strategy. The company, which claims to account for 15% of global lemon milling, serves some 200 customers in more than 50 countries. In addition, San Miguel manages 3,770 productive hectares in Argentina and Uruguay, employing 3,500 people in both countries.
