"Pansy melon is one of the fruits favoured by Vietnamese consumers, because of its sweetness"

Soleil Farm grows melons on their farms in Bac Bin, Binh Province in Vietnam. This region has many sunshine hours and good soil. The company has invested in building greenhouses here.

There are two main varieties: SunOrange a Pansy orange flesh melon and SunGold a pansy orange flesh yellow skin melon, and due to the climate and good growing conditions there can be four crop cycles in one year.

"Soleil Farm was established in 2023 and so far we have constructed 29 greenhouses with Israel-standard irrigation systems on 30+ hectares, we have continuously expanded to meet demand, producing many delicious and quality melons," explains Than Ngan from the company.

"Melons adapt to warm, dry, well-lit climates. The appropriate season for growing cantaloupe is from February to September. The summer in Vietnam from May - July is the best ideal time for harvesting many delicious and quality melons."

In recent years, Vietnamese consumers have begun to pay more attention to their health. They invest a lot of money and time in products which are healthy, especially fruit which is full of vitamins.

"Pansy melon is one of the fruits favoured by Vietnamese consumers, because of its sweetness. Cool to enjoy and rich in vitamin A and calcium which are good for health. But the majority of melons in the Vietnamese market still do not ensure the quality and there are very few melon brands that have invested in appearance as well as in products. At Soleil Farm, we see this as an opportunity to develop and wish to provide quality agricultural products, produced according to standards Global GAP & GRASP to international markets, not only with melons but also other Vietnamese domestic fruit in the near future."

Soleil Farms already exports melons to Cambodia due the proximity and the demand, fruit consumption is high there and according to Than this continues to increase and retailers and hypermarkets promote melons to consumers.

"The growing and consumption of melons in our domestic market is going well, but it can be challenging at times. Expanding export markets will create opportunities for Soleil Farm to develop further, from which we will have the motivation to further promote Pansy melons and with the hope of bringing quality Vietnamese products to international customers."
