India has requested early market access from New Zealand for its grape exporters, aiming to enhance bilateral trade in fresh and dried fruits. Trade Minister Todd McClay concluded discussions in India with officials across agriculture, forestry, commerce, and animal husbandry sectors.

During his visit, McClay engaged with a business delegation from Gujarat and its chief minister, Bhupendra Patel. Indian Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan acknowledged New Zealand's decision to import pomegranates and lift restrictions on mango exports from India.
