Since the onset of 2024, the export of dates from Azerbaijan to Russia has escalated by 71.3% in comparison to the same timeframe in 2023, as reported by Azernews, referencing data from the Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Service of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor).
Despite a slight decrease in the total export of fruits and vegetables from Azerbaijan to Russia, from 352 thousand tons in the first half of 2023 to 338.7 thousand tons in the same period of 2024, specific commodities experienced growth in export volume.
Dates witnessed a 71.3% increase, reaching 31.2 thousand tons, nectarines rose by 34.2% to 19 thousand tons, peaches by 26.6% to 17.4 thousand tons, strawberries by 10.7% to 19.5 thousand tons, and tomatoes by 9.7% to 116.2 thousand tons. These statistics underscore the expanding agricultural trade dynamics between Azerbaijan and Russia, marked by an upsurge in the exchange of key products.
