In the initial six months of 2024, Spain's fruit and vegetable exports demonstrated an upward trend, as per the Customs Department of the Tax Agency's data, analysed by FEPEX. The total export volume reached 6.652.549 tons, marking a 6.32% increase, with the overall value escalating to 10.069 million euros, up by 1.81%. This growth encompasses both fresh vegetables and fruits sectors.
Fresh vegetable exports saw a rise to 3.298.611 tons, a 8.46% increase, although the sector's value experienced a 2.64% decrease to 4.724 million euros. Notably, all key vegetable products witnessed growth, including peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, zucchini, and onions. Despite a general decline in the average value, potato exports notably surged in both volume and value.
On the fruit side, exports totalled 3.353.938 tons, a 4.29% increase, with the value rising by 6.10% to 5.344 million euros. Significant growth was seen in strawberries, blueberries, avocados, nectarines, and Paraguayans, both in terms of volume and value.
