La Grande Bellezza Italiana will start distribution in early September

Mela Rossa di Cuneo Igp - everything is ready for marketing

The marketing of Mela Rossa Cuneo Igp by the La Grande Bellezza Italiana (LGBI) business network will begin soon. "The Gala variety is currently being harvested, one of the few summer apples to bear the Protected Geographical Indication label. Sales will begin in early September with the unmistakable packaging that enhances the product," started Leonardo Odorizzi, a member of the network.

Ripening Gala apples

Attractive packaging that contains PGI products, this is the direction LGBI has now taken. "If a PGI brand is serious, it is successful. Consumers notice the difference and the brand guarantees replicable quality. We have realized this with our range, which now includes seven PGI products: apples from Cuneo, radicchio from Verona, peaches from Verona, clementines from the Gulf of Taranto, table grapes from Puglia, pears from Mantua, and white onions from Margherita. They are just few products, but they are carefully processed at every stage, from production to delivery."

Gala apples currently boast good sizes and a bright color, also because the province of Cuneo was one of the few in Italy to have recorded a summer with temperatures that were not too high, with Mount Monviso (one of the highest and most spectacular mountains in Italy) 'watching over' the production.

In addition to the Gala variety, the other apples part of the Mela Rossa di Cuneo Igp specification will also be put on sale in the fall, thus completing the offer.

Another variety that will be on sale in the fall

If sold loose, each fruit will be marked with the stamp required by the specification. "Last year, we also had very good feedback from the filmed trays with 4 fruits: a type of packaging that is much appreciated by consumers for both the speed of purchase and at the checkout. Distribution is throughout the country, including the islands, thanks to the internal logistics that Grande Bellezza Italiana has at its disposal in its 14 warehouses in Italy."

Territorial recognition, however, would be worth little if there was nothing substantial behind it: 'We can tell all the stories we want, do marketing with all the photos and videos we want, but consumers do not buy a product a second time if it is not to their liking. That is why at LGBI we only select the best products and only put the top of the range on sale. There is a lot of concreteness behind our PGI products."
