Argentina's National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) certified the first export of blueberries with quarantine treatment at the source: 4 tons of fruit that left a plant in Concordia, province of Entre Ríos, bound for the United States.
The operation kicked off the 2024 blueberry campaign, in which Argentina is one of the world's top ten blueberry producers and Entre Ríos the country's main exporting province.

According to data from the sector, 95% of the national blueberries are exported as fresh fruit, 2% is reserved for the local market, and the remaining percentage is destined for the industry to make dried blueberries, frozen products, juices, jams, and frozen paste for ice cream, yogurt, and pastries.
On this occasion, Senasa certified the quarantine treatment that applied to 3,996,000 kilos of blueberries, according to the protocol established by the United States Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA-APHIS) and national fruit producers grouped in the Committee of Producers and Exporters of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables for the USA (COPEXEU).
