In 24 French departments, between September 7th and October 4th:

36 eco-responsible orchards open their doors to the public

For the 14th edition of the Open Orchards event, 36 eco-responsible orchards will welcome visitors, including some making their debut this year. This year's edition promises "a well-distributed presence across the country," allowing more consumers to discover France's favourite fruit first-hand.

The mission remains consistent: "to bridge the gap between consumers and farmers," offering educational tours and activities that provide insights into apples and the best practices in eco-responsible farming. It's a perfect occasion for families and friends to enjoy a meaningful day out together.

This year, the eco-responsible orchards will open their gates over three weekends: September 7-8, September 14-15, and September 28-29. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a variety of activities, including orchard tours guided by apple growers, apple tastings, free apple picking with the chance to purchase directly from the producer, games, and activities for children.

Vergers Ecoresponsables: A Trusted French Label for Committed Arboriculturists
The Vergers Ecoresponsables label, representing 70% of France's apple production, guarantees healthy, quality fruit grown in France. For over 20 years, the 1,400 arboriculturists involved in this initiative have developed farming practices that respect both the environment and biodiversity. Their guiding principle is simple: to work with, observe, and respect nature. Open Orchards offers a unique opportunity to meet and converse with passionate apple growers.
