According to the Ministry of Agriculture's report for the first seven months of 2024, Kyrgyzstan primarily sources its food products from neighbouring countries.
In the period from January to July 2024, Kyrgyzstan imported a total of 61,700 tons of vegetables. The breakdown of this import includes:
- Bell Peppers: 1,100 tons imported from China, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan.
- Tomatoes: 15,800 tons sourced from Turkmenistan, Iran, China, and Uzbekistan.
- Onions: 3.1 tons from China, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
- Cabbage: 4,500 tons imported from China, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
- Carrots: 28,800 tons, with 23,800 tons coming from Uzbekistan and 3.1 tons from Kazakhstan.
- Potatoes: 938.6 tons.
The total fruit import volume was 25,500 tons, with apples making up a significant portion of this.
Apple imports totalled 12,000 tons, with the following breakdown:
- Poland: 3,400 tons
- China: 4,700 tons
- Iran: 1,900 tons
- Russia: 47.2 tons
- Kazakhstan: 521.3 tons
- Afghanistan: 21 tons
- Uzbekistan: 1,400 tons
