Jager Holland expands global exports

"With this expansion, we aim to increase our international footprint"

Emmen-based Jager Holland, a supplier of potatoes, fruit and vegetables (AGF) with more than 100 years of experience, is taking a new step in its global expansion. Under the leadership of owner Brian Meier and with the recent appointment of Judith Acain as sales manager, the company aims to further expand the export of outdoor products such as onions, potatoes and carrots.

"Jager Holland already has a strong position as an exporter within Europe," says Meier. "With Judith on our team, who has earned her spurs in exporting to various global markets, we want to strengthen our international presence globally. Our goal is to increase our footprint around the world and build lasting relationships with new partners in all continents."

Judith and Brian

Judith, who will be responsible for global import and export together with Brian and Wim Valke, is looking forward to the new challenges. "We have been working for years with regular Dutch onion suppliers who supply us with high-quality red and yellow onions for our European customers. We are convinced that we can also offer this quality and service worldwide."

The focus in onion exports will be mainly on Dutch product. However, Meier stresses that quality is always the top priority: "If the quality of Dutch onions is no longer satisfactory, we also consider import onions. We always choose quality over volume." Despite the current low onion prices, Meier expects the market to stabilise. "Although prices may not be as high as in recent years, as a leading exporting country we will still be able to supply many countries with this staple food. After all, people need to eat!"

Jager Holland will be represented by Judith Acain and Brian Meier at several international trade shows, including the Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong and the Fruit Attraction in Madrid.
