The 2024/2025 blueberry campaign in Peru is progressing slowly

According to the Proarándanos Report, the 2024/2025 blueberry campaign in Peru is progressing slowly, with shipments significantly below previous seasons' figures. As of week 33, a total of 15,384 tons of blueberries have been shipped, marking a 35% decrease from the 2023/2024 campaign and a 4% drop from recent August projections. Of the total shipments, 14,855 tons were conventional blueberries, showing a 30% decrease from the previous season and a 2% drop from projections. Organic shipments totaled 529 tons, 79% less than the previous campaign and 32% below projections.

Week 33 saw 3,529 tons shipped, 25% less than the previous year and 15% below the latest projections. Camposol led with 2,273 tons, followed by Blueberry Perú Sociedad Anónima with 1,272 tons. Hortifrut Perú and Agrícola Santa Azul shipped 1,137 and 1,052 tons respectively. The United States received 6,597 tons, maintaining a 43% market share but marking a 28% decrease from the previous season. Shipments to China totaled 3,184 tons, Europe received 2,643 tons, the United Kingdom 739 tons, and other new destinations accounted for 2,222 tons.

La Libertad remains the leading exporter with 6,355 tons, though this is a 50% decrease from the 2023/2024 campaign. Lambayeque followed with 3,416 tons, showing a 28% increase from the previous season. Ancash, Ica, and Lima also contributed with 2,392, 1,713, and 1,187 tons respectively. Notably, Arequipa tripled its previous shipment with 55 tons, and Apurimac entered the international market with 19 tons.
