A mission from the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) of South Korea has visited Chile to evaluate the implementation of the measures agreed for the export of blueberries to their country. Inspector Nam Jessie Hwa Yeun, together with officials from the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG), visited blueberry farms in Ovalle, in the Coquimbo region, as well as in Quillota and Nogales, in the Valparaiso region, to verify compliance with the agreed phytosanitary standards.
The visit served to review the functioning of the National Trapping System of the Lobesia botrana National Program, an essential requirement for the export of blueberries to Korea. The mission also included a visit to SAG's Lo Aguirre entomology laboratory.
The visit came to a close on 30 August with a meeting in which Inspector Nam praised SAG's commitment and efficiency in complying with the necessary requirements for blueberry exports.
