Pakistani experts learn Chinese kiwifruit technology in Sichuan

Agricultural experts from Pakistan, along with their counterparts from Egypt, Nepal, and Mongolia, are participating in the International Training Workshop on Kiwi Industrial Technology in Cangxi, Sichuan province. This initiative is aimed at transferring advanced kiwifruit cultivation techniques from China to these countries. Cangxi is recognized for its unique red kiwifruit variant, which is notable for its smooth skin and distinctive sweet taste.

The kiwifruit industry in Cangxi has seen substantial growth, with a cultivation area expanding to approximately 26,333 hectares and contributing significantly to the local economy and employment. The workshop offers a blend of theoretical and practical learning experiences, covering a wide range of topics essential for kiwifruit cultivation and industry development.

Participants from Pakistan, including experts from PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi and the University of Swabi, have expressed their enthusiasm for the knowledge and practices being shared. They have highlighted the potential for applying these techniques in their own regions to enhance the kiwifruit industry. The workshop is a collaborative effort involving several Chinese governmental and academic institutions and is structured to facilitate comprehensive learning and future cooperation in kiwifruit cultivation and technology transfer.
