HarvestEye's debut at Potato Europe in France showcases innovative technology

At the upcoming Potato Europe event in Villers-Saint-Christophe, Aisne, France, the machine-learning tool HarvestEye will be introduced to the French market on 11 and 12 September. This technology, which offers actionable insights for the root crop sector, including potatoes and onions, will display its 2.0 version and a Handheld system to approximately 15,000 attendees.

HarvestEye aims to provide a cost-effective monitoring solution for crop harvests, enabling growers, packers, and processors to optimize operations and reduce operational costs. The system, accessible via an online portal, can be integrated into grading and harvest machinery, as well as utilized through a Handheld device for in-field assessments.

According to Harry Tinson, general manager at HarvestEye, the expansion into the French and broader Northwestern European markets at Potato Europe follows a successful introduction in The Netherlands at the Aardappel DemoDag. Tinson highlighted the system's utility in enhancing operational efficiency and its adaptability to the cooler oceanic climate conditions prevalent in this region. With over 170 units already distributed globally, 2024 marks a significant year for HarvestEye's growth and customer engagement.

Vidyanath (Vee) Gururajan, managing director of HarvestEye, emphasized the strategic importance of Northwestern Europe as a key market for potatoes and onions. The company's participation in industry events like Potato Europe in France and the upcoming Interpom in Belgium from 24-26 November at Kortrijk Xpo, Kortrijk, facilitates direct engagement with potential users. Gururajan noted the positive international response and the ongoing interest from markets as diverse as Australia, Prince Edward Island, and North America, underscoring the global demand for HarvestEye's innovative solutions.
