Moldova's fruit exports increased in August

In August 2024, fruit exports showed both growth and slight fluctuations compared to the same month in 2023.

In August 2024, Moldova's apricot exports doubled to 1,166 tons, compared to 538 tons in 2023. The country expanded its market from 8 to 15 countries, including the Netherlands, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, the UK, and Serbia. The average price rose from $0.84/kg to $0.99/kg.

Apple exports remained almost identical to the previous season, with 8,200 tons in August 2024 compared to 8,360 tons in August 2023.

Plum exports saw a slight decrease of about 15% compared to the last season. Romania remains the top export destination, followed by Poland and Russia. The average price rose from $0.43/kg in August 2023 to $0.60/kg this year.

Grape exports increased by 20%, with the average price rising to $0.86/kg, compared to $0.80/kg in August 2023. Romania, Russia, and Ukraine were the primary markets, with exports to Romania increasing 1.6 times compared to the same period last year.
