"The Avotruck is traveling around Spain and will arrive at Fruit Attraction on October 7"

Avocados are going to be in the spotlight at the 16th edition of Fruit Attraction, and an Avotruck, which will have a prominent place in the fair's program, has already departed from Seville, capital of Andalusia, Guest Region of the event.

"On September 12, we have started the route that the Avotruck will take around Spain in partnership with the avocado sector. This year, avocados are going to be the flagship fruit at IFEMA, so the sector has really stepped up its game at all levels and I love what is being done at a gastronomic level," says Enrique García, CEO of Avolution Lab and participant in the Avotruck route. "So far, the avocado sector has remained very focused on sustainability, innovation, technology and environmental protection, and we are very happy about the desire to give a big boost to the gastronomic approach, which Avolution Lab specializes in."

"In the end, avocado producers grow the fruit for consumers to enjoy, so we want people to know that there are thousands of ways to enjoy avocados, and we are doing that by going to the places where gastronomic creativity lies: catering schools."

"That is what we are going to do with the Avotruck. We are going to visit all the catering schools that sign up and bring them avocados to promote the use of the fruit in dishes among students, who will be the chefs of the future."

"It has already been shown that avocados can be part of a great number of savoury recipes, although there is still a whole world to be discovered, especially when it comes to sweet dishes," says Enrique.

"For now, we have confirmed that, after the Avotruck departs from Seville, it will also visit Almeria, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, Huesca, Bilbao, San Sebastian and Pontevedra, and we are awaiting further confirmations."

Three days of promotion
The Avotruck's journey will end in Madrid, where it will take part in the promotional activities organized by the avocado sector for the three days of the fair, including cooking demonstrations by Daniel del Toro, the launch of a digital dossier compiling all the benefits of avocado consumption and an international congress for professionals from the sector.

"We will also have the final of the Avocado League, a competition in which the hospitality and catering schools visited by the Avotruck will take part. The chefs who have cooked the best creations with fresh avocados in their schools will prepare their dishes at Fruit Attraction in front of a jury, who will determine who will be the champion of The Avocado League."
