Fluctuations in UK produce prices

Capsicum prices down by 38% while cauliflower prices are up to 97%

The average wholesale prices of selected home-grown horticultural produce in England and Wales up to Monday, 16 September 2024.

This series gives the average wholesale prices of selected home-grown horticultural produce in England and Wales. These are averages of the most usual prices charged by wholesalers for selected home-grown fruit, vegetables and cut flowers at the wholesale markets in Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and a London Market (New Spitalfields or Western International).

In this week's average wholesale market prices of home-grown produce from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, the biggest decrease could be noted in yellow/orange capsicum prices of -38% and vine tomato prices of -30%. The biggest increase is in cauliflower prices with 97% and in strawberry prices with 68%.
