In week 37, cucumber prices at Belgium auction VBT were again high. The drop in price the week before proved short-lived. That price rise did stagnate in week 37. For loose tomatoes that means 1.11 euros per kilo, and for vine tomatoes we see the same average price in the price overview of the Federation of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives.
For peppers, prices last week were close to the five-year average. For red this means 1.12 euros per kilo in week 37, for yellow 1.37 euros per kilo and for green 1.23 euros per kilo.
The average price for head lettuce has rebounded to above the five-year average after several lean weeks. That gives a mid-price of 54 euro cents per head for week 37.
The average price for strawberries has been neatly above 5 euros per kilo for the past three weeks. Compared to recent years, a neat price. Over week 37, an average of 5.43 euros per kilo was paid.
