Grosbusch opens its doors to the public

"This event is a great success with the general public"

On Saturday, Grosbusch opened its doors to the general public for the 18th edition of "Portes Ouvertes" Luxembourg. "It is a flagship event for us, the only one of the year specifically dedicated to the general public," explains Stéphie Van den Meersschaut, marketing and communication manager of the company.

Consumers are increasingly sensitive to what they consume
It is a great opportunity for consumers to get a behind-the-scenes look at one of Luxembourg's biggest food companies. "This event is a big hit with the public, who are curious to find out how a food company works. Last year, over 500 people visited us, not including children. We have noticed that households are increasingly sensitive to what they consume and concerned about eating more healthy. Luxembourg is the third country in Europe to consume products from organic farming, a complete range that we offer alongside conventional products."

A fascinating world for the general public

To combine business with pleasure, the company has made it a point of honor to treat its guests well, with juices, fresh fruit, a competition, as well as a workshop for children upon arrival. The public is then invited to move into the auditorium for a presentation of the company, which is above all a history, a name and a brand... The Grosbusch family personally shares its history and anecdotes with its guests. "Visitors have the opportunity to discover the entire food supply and value chain: from grading to storage, from order preparation to delivery. A complete circuit is offered to our visitors through our 18,000 m² warehouse. They discover what we do on a daily basis, and the strict standards under which we operate. They enter a colorful world, with thousands of products they had never imagined existed."

A unifying event

While this event is particularly popular with visitors, it is just as much appreciated by the Grosbusch employees. "Being in direct contact with end consumers makes it a 'short circuit' day for us, and we really enjoy talking to each other and to the public. It is an event that is all about sharing, and all in all, it is a very unifying experience."
