Xuewang Lemon at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong with its new brand, seeking international partners.

"Chinese lemons become more competitive in Southeast Asian markets this season"

Due to the prolonged dry weather, the lemon harvest this year experienced a delay, yet the total production remained within the expected range. This month, Xuewang Lemon unveiled its new brand image at the Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong, capturing the interest of numerous potential customers. Currently, the company is gearing up for the upcoming season.

Manager Ma, the sales manager, provided insights into the Sichuan lemon production for this season. "The early drought this year postponed the harvesting of some lemons, which would typically begin in early September. Despite this setback, the overall yield has stayed consistent, although it has seen a decrease from last year," Ma detailed. "Following a 30% increase in output last year, this year's yield was naturally lower due to the exhaustion of the trees' capacity. Additionally, the predominance of spring blooms over summer ones led to an approximate 50% reduction in production."

Discussing the export market, Ma noted, "For the 23-24 season, a significant inventory led to a decrease in prices. However, the depreciation of the RMB helped mitigate the impact of rising shipping costs. Despite some price reductions, China Lemon has secured a crucial role in the reopening of the Russian market and has strengthened its presence in the Southeast Asian market."

Established just a few years ago, Xuewang Lemon has quickly become one of China's leading lemon distributors, boasting an annual yield of 50,000 tons and state-of-the-art sorting equipment. Ma is optimistic about the future of China's lemon industry, highlighting 30 years of development that have led to a tailored industrialization path. He pointed out the shift towards larger, more standardized orchards and the advancement of specialized agricultural services and packaging technology as key factors in the industry's professional growth.

Xuewang Lemon's debut at the Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong was a success, drawing around 300 visitors due to effective online promotion, pre-scheduled customer meetings, and attractive booth presentations.

The company operates a packaging facility in the regions producing Eureka Lemon, Perfume Lemon, and Navel Orange, ensuring a steady supply through comprehensive export procedures. Focused mainly on Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, Xuewang Lemon is also venturing into the Russian and Middle Eastern markets. Ma shared that the company employs a national agency model, collaborating with reliable importers worldwide and making long-term commitments. "We annually convene with our partner orchards to discuss market trends, share the latest in agricultural practices, and set quality standards and pricing, ensuring transparency throughout the process."
